Body Composition

The breakdown of your body weight into fat, muscle, water, and bone — measured at home with bioelectrical impedance smart scales.

Body composition is what your body weight is actually made of: fat mass, lean mass (mostly muscle), water, and bone. It's a much more useful number than weight alone.

Smart scales estimate body composition using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) — sending a tiny electrical current through your body and measuring how much it's resisted by different tissues. Fat resists more, water resists less.

BIA at home is directional, not exact. Hydration, time of day, recent meals, and recent exercise all affect readings by several percentage points. Measure under consistent conditions — same time of day, same hydration state — and watch the trend over weeks.

For people training seriously, the trend matters far more than the absolute number.
